Unfortunately, accidents, storms and damage are a part of our everyday life and when they affect our clients, there is no one better suited to handle these situations than our Claims Specialists. A key part in the commercial client relationship, The Koch Co. is seeking a Claims Specialist to educate and inform on claims and loss history as well as advocating fully for their client.
What’s the work like?
You will:
- Meet with and maintain effective working relationships with clients and company representatives to support business retention
- Effectively and independently process and report claim information received to insurers
- Obtain and analyze loss run reports from insurer for purpose of claim reviews
- Closely monitor the status of large claims and suits and notify manager of all losses reserved in excess of $250,000 or any loss that has significant potential of developing into a sizable or questionable loss
- Promptly respond to insureds’, insurers’ or claimants’ questions and/or requests for assistance
- Communicate with Claims Manager regarding significant requests or problems and/or information not received
- Maintain the electronic account file and fully incorporate the capabilities of the agency management system into daily workflow
- Prioritize workload to consistently meet objectives and request assistance from management when necessary
- Comply with requirements of quality programs
- Develop technical insurance knowledge of agency employees through formal and informal education and training
- Incorporate the capabilities of the agency management system into daily workflow following agency procedures
- Any other special projects and duties as assigned
What do I need to know?
You have to have…
- Valid Driver's License
- Resident Property and Casualty Agent's license or willingness to pursue
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel), and all agency automation software (Sagitta & Image Right preferred)
- Proficiency in word processing and typing skills
- Strong respect for confidentiality
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) to four (4) years of commercial insurance experience
