Flood Insurance

Flood Insurance is coverage for property damaged by a flood. Even you're not in a flood zone, it doesn't mean you can't suffer losses due to flooding.

What is Flood Insurance?

Flood insurance is coverage for property damaged by a flood.

The National Flood Insurance Program offers residential policyholders dwelling coverage up to $250,000 and personal property coverage up to $100,000. Private flood and additional excess flood coverages are available.

The NFIP’s definition of a flood is as follows:

“A general or temporary condition of partial or complete inundation of two or more acres of normally dry land area or of two or more properties (at least one of which is your property) from:

  • Overflow of inland or tidal waters;
  • Unusual and rapid accumulation or runoff of surface waters from
    any source;
  • Mudflow; or
  • Collapse or subsidence of land along the shore of a lake or
    similar body of water as a result of erosion or undermining caused by waves
    or currents of water exceeding anticipated cyclical levels that result in
    flood as defined above.”

Why You Need Flood Insurance

Flood damage is NOT covered by most homeowners insurance policies.

If you don't have a separate flood insurance policy, you'll be paying the full cost to repair flood damage to your home and to replace damaged belongings. Flood insurance is more affordable than you might think. Call us and ask for a flood insurance quote from.

Flooding can occur anywhere, anytime.

And it’s caused by more than just rainfall. Snow melt, hurricanes and new development in your area also can cause flooding. So, even if your property is located high on a hill or in the desert, you still could experience flooding.

Don't Wait Until Water is at Your Door

Consider purchasing flood insurance sooner rather than later. Keep in mind that there’s often a 30-day wait after purchase for the policy to take effect. It’s rainy day protection that could help save your most valuable investment: your home or business.
